After a long 4 day weekend of visiting good friends east of the Mississippi, I arrive home with a full blown case of Post Party Depression....and face a dryer that won't work. I have tons of dirty clothes, am tired beyond belief, and have to deal with a broken dryer.
Little did I know, dryers have fuses in the back of them that can blow. A buddy of mine from work told me I should remove my fuse and take it to get tested before I called someone to come out to my house.
So I yesterday afternoon I set off on my first "Handy Dandy" conquest. FIRST, I attempted to remove the back of my dryer...didn't have the right tools, or should I say, I didn't have any tools beyond a screw driver. So I headed out to my local hardware store and browsed the 'tool' isle. Not knowing exactly what I needed, I came home with 3 different types of wrenches. Regardless if I only needed one of them, the others would come in handy down the road. SECOND, I dis-assembled the back of my dryer, found the fuse and removed it. THIRD, I went to see my local dryer man, Farhaud (he's not from around these parts), and he confirmed I needed a new fuse cause mine was blown. FINALLY, I replaced the fuse, re-assmbled the dryer, and ......Wall-la, I had hot air. I have to admit this is pretty darn impress for a Princess like me.
